  • Terence spoke on New New Media at the Civil Service College recently. The topic of focus was "ROI" in New Media. Now for most Web 2.0 groupies, we would be wondering why there would be a "Return on Investment" in New Media? Every project usually has a return. That is a hard fact of Singapore. The other hard fact is that we cannot ignore New Media. Participation is important. The issue is to determine the appropriate levels of engagement that a government should adopt and the cost/benefits associated with it. More importantly, a benefit of New New Media is the wealth of feedback that is now available. Every organisation should leverage this. #
  • Harro recently did a media analysis on the classifieds market in SE Asia. It is interesting to note that the leaders of Web 1.0 have faded away, and new leaders are emerging. eBay naturally still takes the global lead, however, with new entrants like Mocca, Lina Alerts, 88DB, we will see renewed focus on auctions, and classifieds.
